PostSubject: HD Nuclear frontier (Ugly unauthorised edit of our oldhostelHD24 stage)   Fri Dec 11, 2009 12:44 am

Screenshot of the stage in wide mode (1280*720) downsized in 640*360
(downscaled, click on screenshot to open it and use the magnifier/mouse to see it real size).

This HD 720 stage is a pathetic hack of the original stage oldhostelHD24 included in the brokenmugen HD beta 3 release (06/10/2009) :

colors : 24 bits...
resolution : 1280*720
Animated : no
superjump : few
FPS 1280*800 16 bits : soon
FPS 1280*800 32 bits : can't because RCx is 16 bits only.

Unauthorised derivations of our oldhostelHD24 stage represent now 50% of the available HD stages for Elecbyte V1.0 RCx engine.

So, as we are the authors of the original release, we prefer to host it ourself than to let only warhouses providing it

Look at the SFF's. They're totally different.

- Your stage is the whole JPEG in three different images using RGB, which is a terrible method to use since it slows down MUGEN and causes bugs with bgpalfx.
- This stage (as well as the Mystery Science Theater 3000) one were manually split into multiple parts so that they didn't need to rely on trans = add.

Finally, I find it funny that you're hosting it as is Laughing

Copyrights are based on originality and anteriority in content/purpose creation, not the technique used.

This stage is a derivation of our ORIGINAL BrokenMUGEN HD content, the HD 960 stage OldhostelHD24.

Our ORIGINALS HD stages are considered in the US as licenced Creative works, with rights on derivations.

If we had drawed the image you couldn't use it all. (All rights reserved)
As it is a public domain image, you can use this image to do what you want except Mugen HD stages because we have anteriority in creation for this purpose. (Some rights reserved)

So you can split/derivate a KOF stage, it stay an SNK-Playmore works. You can split/derivate our stage, it stay our works.
The difference is that you can't use an image of a kof stage for others unexisting purposes and you can with the public domain image we use.

The fact that half of the Mugen HD stages (3 on 6) released for [Elecbyte LLC] HD Mugen engine [Mugen V 1.0 RCx] are illegals derivations of the original content of our HD Mugen engine [BrokenMUGEN HD] just proove that some people are uncreatives and unmorals.

Cool you find funny we host unauthorised derivations of our works.. Cool
If you create originals stages (like FlickR, MOTVN or Ryon), you can release them normally on this forum and link your site. Everybody can freely release his works here, our opinion on it doesn't count (except if it's a copy of our works) and unlike others forums, we only tolerate judgements of others creators. Others have no legitimity to criticize a creation.

But this is a 720 stage, not a 960. Plus, it runs on Mugen 1.0, which doesn't have any link with BMHD, since they aren't the same engines at all.

Didn't a guy named Cybaster post a topic about 75 new stages for Mugen 1.0 ? There are also many new stages by FlickR. So it looks like you're modifying the real numbers to your needs, as there aren't 6, but more than 80 stages for Mugen 1.0. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think this shows you haven't even tried the stage.

They are 2 concurrents HD Mugen engines and as Mugen V 1.0 RCx have a partial compatibility with BrokenMUGEN HD, we don't want that our original content was derivated on it.
That's why we have released stages which doesn't come from videogames. Have your own ideas and don't copy ours.

Cybaster made a joke with fake stages (created in batch...) based on pictures which doesn't fit at all as stages backgrounds and he didn't released them on main mugen forums as he did with the hack of our stage.
FlickR is a member of BrokenMUGEN Guild, he have to release his stages himself and we will count them when it will be done.

I tested most of them, and more than half of the stages have the floor which fit the characters very well. They may not be high quality (colorloss), but they should count, since they are 1.0 stages. Otherwise, I think you are still fitting the numbers to your needs.

What ? The fact FlickR comes here or not to release the stages doesn't have any link with the fact they exist or not. They exist, it's a fact, so they count. After, it's his choice to come here and post or not.

Think what you want. We really don't care.
We think you should stop to adapt/derivate our originals stages for V 1.0 and start to create original content for it.

Who's "you" ? Why are you attacking me ? I'm just trying to understand things here.

Shocked As said, I'm only trying to understand things. Why denying the truth ? There are more than "40" stages (if we count only the correct stages by Cybaster), so why saying there are only six ? I just don't get it.
And I don't understand either why an admin wouldn't care about the opinion of the members of his forum...

You said 80 stages the precedent post, now it's 40 ?

Cybaster have automatised SFF creation with matlab to generate 75 crappy 8 bits SFF which are not tested and doesn't fit with nothing. In our opinion this is not reals usable stages.
He said he's perfectly conscient of that and that's the reason why this shit is not released on the forums where he usually release his more usable shit, rips of our stages.

We estimate, on this forum, that only people who create things (not copies...) to Mugen have legitimity to criticize creations.
This forum is dedicaced to creators, not useless big mouths.

Did you even read my post ? You said that they shouldn't count because the floor doesn't fit with characters. I said "40" because at least 35 of Cybaster's stages (over the 75) have floor that fit very well (stage 1 and 2 are just examples). So yeah, it's 40 if you count only the good stages by Cybaster, and more than 80 if you count even the crappy ones.

I tested your staticHD stage, as well as RainingDojoHD, and they are 8 bit stages too, so I don't see your point about "crappy 8 bits SFF". Plus, all the stages seem to slide when characters move. Or did you fix it since the last time I tested (one month ago) ? As said, at least 35 of Cybaster's stage fit well with the characters (1 & 2 for example).

Our last stages releases have slide fixed. Not the old ones. It will be done soon.

There is lot of works on our 8 bits stages optimisation and very few colorloss. Stages have been choosed before to be converted in 8 bits and doesn't use gradients like most of cybasters crappy stages.
Gradients can't be correctly converted in 8 bits.

Our 24 bits stage MuseumbynightHD24 come from the same pictures database than cybasters crappy works.

Screenshot of the stage in wide mode (1280*800) downsized in 640*400
(downscaled, click on screenshot to open it and use the magnifier/mouse to see it real size).

The same stage converted to 8 bits :

(downscaled, click on screenshot to open it and use the magnifier/mouse to see it real size).

Our 8 bits stages have been choosed and optimised to don't have this sort of colorloss :

Just one problem there, mister.

You blatantly lied about Cybaster's stage. You just posted the image that you found on the blog and converted it to 8-bit color saying that it was his. Cybaster's stage takes full advantage of MUGEN showing 16-bit color (which is the maximum your "engine" can do) by breaking up the image into components that are 8-bit and putting them together.

All you use is the RGB method which has been around for a while that I popularized. So using your logic, I should be hosting all of your stages and calling all of you "thieves" because you're ripping off my technique!

BTW, if you don't want to try this stage out, then just look in the SFF (or is it "beneath" you to look at an SFF?). You may not like what you find.

Anyway, all the stages I see here are provided with false description.
It's written :
Quote :

colors : 24 bits...
resolution : 1280*720
Animated : no
superjump : few
FPS 1280*800 16 bits : soon
FPS 1280*800 32 bits : can't because RCx is 16 bits only.
Whereas the truth is :

colors : 16 bits...
resolution : 1280*720
Animated : yes
superjump : yes
FPS 1280*800 16 bits : IT IS 16 bits
FPS 1280*800 24 bits : can't because RCx is 16 bits only (as BMHD).
FPS 1280*800 32 bits : can't because RCx is 16 bits only (as BMHD).

Mystery, which Cybaster's stage are you talking about in your post ? This topic is about aokmaniac13's stage.

.Copyrights are based on originality and anteriority in content/purpose creation, not the technique used.

This stage is a derivation of our ORIGINAL BrokenMUGEN HD content, the HD 960 stage OldhostelHD24.

Our stages are 24 bits : 3*8bits channels.
BrokenMUGEN HD doesn't bug in 24/32 bits. RCx does.

Mystery is speaking about "country enforcers" which was the first derivation of our stage oldhostelHD24, before this one.

using a technique counts as much as content,in this case. When you write a scientific paper and used a particular algorithm in your works, you have to credit the creator of the algorithm. Your copyright quote is about purpose, hence you're using the RGB method to reduce colorloss, which is a purpose.

And I don't understand your point about content, since all the stages you claim as stolen don't have the same content (look at the SFF).

Finally, BMHD doesn't bug when you use 24 bits, but the value you set in mugen.cfg, it actually does nothing: mugen is 16 bits only. Try that: play in oldhostel using 16 then 24 bits. You won't see any difference, because mugen displays everything in 16 bits. Don't forget it's only a beta, not everything works.

We don't use RGB method to reduce colorloss. We use it to keep the original image 24 bits depth.
As we use photoshop to make RGB splitting component, your opinion is we have to credit Adobe for our works ?
We don't think so.

How is this built from your work? From what I read, all the stages are built from an image on decorablog, so they use nothing from your work.

And yes, you could credit Adobe and fighter factory, just to show some respect. Your stage wouldn't be there without these tools.

Also, you skipped my point about 16/24/32 bits.

We have created an HD Mugen stage.

To use a public domain image or to draw the background just make one difference :

You can use the public domain image to do what you want except copies of our creative works [HD Mugen stages].
You can't use a background we have drawed at all.

Our creative works are under this licence (no derivative works) :

http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/legalcode

NOT this one (share alike) :

http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/legalcode
